Preparing a Home for Sale
I’m sharing how and why we prepare your home ahead of time for a sale.
When sellers sign on to work with me, I begin with making sure the home is ready to go onto the market, and that’s half the battle. People don’t realize that making sure everything is prepared ahead of time saves so much time and a ton of money. In the end, it comes down to getting more money for my clients.
I want to work with people who honestly want to get through this process. They aren’t doing this for the fun of it; they want it to be pain-free, and I do too. Sometimes there’s a little more preparation in the beginning so we don’t have the house sitting on the market for six months to a year. By not doing what’s necessary, you’re only hurting your own sale.
Some of the ways we prepare your property to get you the most amount of money and a quick closing are by staging and making any repairs and updates that need to be done. Even minor repairs can make a substantial difference in the sale price. We want to make the home as neutral as possible so it appeals to the broadest demographic. That’s critical because we have more opportunities within that buyer pool; we have more people willing to see the house.
